Our professional staff and technical field assistants are experienced in conducting Environmental Site Assessments on sites polluted or impacted upon by various organic and inorganic pollutants. This process would typically include the following components:
Initial Site Assessment
Contaminant source identification, investigation and definition of contaminant pathways, identification and definition of receiving environment
Invasive Site Investigation
Soil Vapour Survey with a hand-held Photo Ionisation Detector (for volatile organic contamination) to delineate lateral extent of contamination plume, soil sampling – through hand auger holes or small diameter auger rig drilling, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling
Risk Assessment and reporting
Aquifer modelling, two-dimensional contaminant plume modelling, assessment of risk and impact using Risk Based Corrective Action (RBCA) principles
Development and implementation of monitoring systems and programmes
Development of mitigation measures, design and installation of surface and groundwater monitoring systems, initiating ongoing routine water quality monitoring
Rehabilitation / Remediation
Soil bio-remediation – either through on-site treatment (air-sparging etc.) or off-site bio-remediation as agreed with relevant Authorities, on-site product and contaminated groundwater remediation and recovery through Vacuum Enhanced Recovery, Pump and Treat, In-situ Chemical Oxidation etc.
